This bit weigh 365 gram. It has a flat mouthpiece and is 14 cm wide. It's 1,2 cm thick and the flat side is 2,5 cm wide. It's made of "cuperon", a mixture that Mikmar claim is theirs. It contains much copper and is made to be strong. More about cuperon

The side pieces are special. The are patented by Mikmar.

From Mikmar's own homepage:

"Legendary Horseman Frank Evans, founder of the Mikmar Bit Company, designed the Mikmar Combination Bit. It is highly acclaimed worldwide for its versatility, unique design, and excellent results. As the rider applies pressure to the reins, this unique design disperses pressure to the nose, mouth, chin, and poll areas. Frank Evans' goal was to be able to protect a horse's mouth and at the same time get desired results. It sends a clearer signal to the horse, allowing the rider to use a softer hand.

My own descibtion: This is a very light weight bit, only 365 g. The mouthpiece is flat with "MIKMAR PAT. PEND." written on the right side. The port is 5.5 cm high, with a rolling cricket inside, made of copper. On the inside left shank is the brand stamp. The upper shanks are slightly bent outwards, and bent backwards towards the mouth. On the upper shank there’s is a hole for the nose rope. The bit offers three different attachments for the reins which can be used alone or in combination.
The nose rope is made of nylon, smooth and brown in colour.
The curbstrap is brown, soft leather.
